To begin with, you need a working version of WordPress 4.7 or above, already installed. After you finish setting up your WordPress, you should carefully check all the steps listed below.
Before installing or updating Ombra Theme, you must download the necessary theme files from your ThemeForest account.
Please make sure that you do not upload the ZIP file downloaded directly from Themeforest, because the ZIP file you downloaded contains extra files such as demo files and licensing. Upload the zip file containing the WordPress files only.

Install Theme
Step 1 Get the Ombra theme files by going to your Envato account → Downloads → Ombra → Download → Installable WordPress file only.
Step 2 Navigate to Appearance → Themes, then click Add New button. Next, check Upload Theme – click this and in the new opened window, see Choose File.
Step 3 Upload your theme, by picking up the ombra.zip archive downloaded earlier from ThemeForest and click Install Now.
Step 4 After uploading process is finished, click Activate, in order to activate your theme.
Step 5 Install and activate all required (Pikart Base) and recommended plugins (WPForms and WooCommerce).
Update Theme
In order to update OMBRA theme, you could choose from the following two ways: WordPress Dashboard and File Transfer Protocol. Both methods require you to download the theme files from ThemeForest first.
It is always best practice and recommended to complete a full site backup and a database backup before you update any software, in our case — Ombra Theme. This ensures you can revert to a working version of the theme if anything unexpected occurs.
Keep in mind You will not lose your content or theme settings after update. But if you did customizations to theme’s core files (add/edit code), such as PHP files, will be lost unless you’re using a child theme.
WordPress Dashboard
Deactivate OMBRA theme by activating any other theme. Once the theme is not active you can delete this theme. After removing it, upload and install the new updated theme and activate it.
Step 1 Deactivate Ombra Theme located in the WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Themes. In order to deactivate, simply switch to a different theme, like the default WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme.
Step 2 After deactivating you need to delete Ombra Theme. In order do this, click on the theme thumbnail, then you will see the Delete button in the bottom right corner of the new opened window. While removing theme, you’re not actually deleting your content, like posts, pages or images.
Step 3 Get the Ombra theme file by going to your Envato account → Downloads → Ombra → Download → Installable WordPress file only.
Step 4 Go to your WordPress Dashboard → Appearance → Themes click on Add New button near the top of the page; then click the Upload Theme button and Choose File button will appear. Click on it and select ombra.zip file you have already downloaded from ThemeForest. Once uploaded, click on Install Now button.
Step 5 When the Ombra Theme installation has completed successfully, you need to activate the theme by clicking the Activate button.
File Transfer Protocol
If you update via FTP, it’s important that you delete (not replace or overwrite) the old Ombra theme folder. So, remove the current theme folder ombra from wp-content → themes and upload the new one. The steps for doing this are listed below:
Step 1 Log into your server using FTP, navigate to the wp-content → themes folder and find the Ombra Theme folder.
Step 2 Backup Ombra theme folder by saving it to your computer and then you can delete it from the server. While removing theme files, you’re not actually deleting your content, like posts, pages or images.
Step 3 Get the Ombra theme file by going to your Envato account → Downloads → Ombra → Download → Installable WordPress file only. Extract ombra.zip file to get Ombra folder, then drag and drop the new Ombra folder into the wp-content → themes directory.
