As OMBRA theme is conceived to empower creativity and imagination, we considered that the Portfolio needs a separate module in order to be properly enjoyed, even if it comes as a continuation of Managing Content section.
We conceived two powerful tools to showcase your portfolio — Album & Projects — that could be set up in so many innovative ways: as sliders or carousels, embellished with elegant headings or fancy buttons, or, even more, as exquisite cards with various effects applied on them.
Both tools were developed as Custom Post Types. What does Custom Post Type mean?
Well, it’s more a technical discussion, but let’s make things clear. WordPress can hold and display many different types of content (Posts, Pages, Attachments): a single item of such a content is generally called a post. An Album Item is a specific type of post. A Project is a specific type of post. Also, a Page is a specific type of post. Even a Post is a specific type of post.
Album & Projects have been already presented in Media elements section, but with the main focus on their archives. However, in this chapter, we will go further and enrich the previous discussion with helpful information to get an outstanding presentation of your works.
