To begin with, you need a working version of WordPress 4.7 or above, already installed. After you finish setting up your WordPress, you should carefully check all the steps listed below.<\/p>\n
Before installing or updating Ombra Theme, you must download the necessary theme files from your ThemeForest account.<\/p>\n
Please make sure that you do not upload the ZIP file downloaded directly from Themeforest<\/strong>, because the ZIP file you downloaded contains extra files such as demo files and licensing. Upload the zip file containing the WordPress files only.<\/p><\/div> Summary<\/p><\/div>\n Install Theme<\/a> Install Theme<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n Step 1<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Get the Ombra theme files by going to your Envato account <\/i>\u2192 Downloads \u2192 Ombra\u00a0\u2192 Download \u2192 Installable WordPress file only.<\/i><\/p>\n Step 2<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Navigate to Appearance<\/strong>\u00a0\u2192<\/i> Themes<\/strong>, then click Add New<\/strong> button. Next, check\u00a0Upload Theme<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 click this and in the new opened window, see\u00a0Choose File<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Step 3<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Upload your theme, by picking up the ombra.zip<\/strong> archive downloaded earlier from ThemeForest and click Install Now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Step 4<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0After uploading process is finished, click Activate<\/strong>, in order to activate your theme.<\/p>\n Step 5<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Install and activate all required<\/em> (Pikart Base<\/strong><\/a>) and recommended plugins<\/em> (WPForms<\/a> <\/strong>and WooCommerce)<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n Update Theme<\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n In order to update OMBRA theme, you could choose from the following two ways: WordPress Dashboard<\/em> and File Transfer Protocol<\/em>. Both methods\u00a0require you to download the theme files from ThemeForest first.<\/p>\n It is always best practice and recommended to complete a full site\u00a0backup<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and a database backup<\/em><\/strong> before you update any software, in our case \u2014 Ombra Theme. This ensures you can revert to a working version of the theme if anything unexpected occurs.<\/p>\n Keep in mind<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0You will not\u00a0lose your content<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0or theme<\/em><\/strong> settings\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>after update.\u00a0But if you did customizations to theme\u2019s core files (add\/edit code), such as PHP files, will be lost unless you\u2019re using a child theme.<\/p><\/div>\n WordPress Dashboard<\/p><\/div>\n Deactivate OMBRA\u00a0theme by activating any other theme. Once the theme is not active you can delete this theme. After removing it, upload and\u00a0install the new updated theme and activate it.<\/p>\n Step 1<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Deactivate Ombra Theme located in the WordPress Dashboard <\/em>\u00a0<\/i>\u2192\u00a0Appearance\u00a0\u2192\u00a0Themes<\/em><\/i>. In order to deactivate, simply switch to a different theme, like the default WordPress Twenty Seventeen theme.<\/p>\n Step 2<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0After deactivating you need to delete Ombra Theme. In order do this, click on the theme thumbnail, then you will see the Delete button<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0in the bottom right corner of the new opened window.\u00a0While removing theme, you\u2019re not actually deleting your content, like posts, pages or images.<\/p>\n Step 3<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Get the Ombra theme file by going to your\u00a0Envato account\u00a0<\/i>\u2192 Downloads \u2192 Ombra\u00a0\u2192 Download \u2192 Installable WordPress file only.<\/i><\/p>\n Step 4<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0Go to your WordPress Dashboard<\/em>\u00a0<\/i>\u2192 Appearance \u2192 Themes <\/i>click on Add New <\/em><\/strong>button near the top of the page; then click the Upload Theme<\/strong><\/em> button and Choose File<\/strong><\/em> button will appear. Click on it and select ombra.zip<\/em><\/strong> file you have already downloaded from ThemeForest.\u00a0Once uploaded, click on Install Now\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>button.<\/p>\n Step 5<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0When the Ombra Theme installation has completed successfully, you need to activate the theme by clicking the Activate<\/strong><\/em> button.<\/p>\n File Transfer Protocol<\/p><\/div>\n If you update via FTP, it\u2019s important that you delete (not replace or overwrite) the old Ombra theme folder. So, remove the current theme folder ombra<\/strong> from\u00a0wp-content \u2192\u00a0<\/i>themes<\/em>\u00a0and upload the new one.
